| And so to bed |
| A Field of Poppies |
A Field of Poppies
Tranquillity filled the place Stalking buds hugged my waist And I walked on past the sunset, towards dawn
Thoughts raced ahead of me How silly, how very silly, But I would not blame them Youth at the helm
Colours dazzled White, pink, blue, purple Yet many, many more A land-based rainbow
I stopped, compelled to, Felt the rising dew Sat and whispered aloud Hidden by a passing cloud
And the poppies swayed Lovely promenade I must return soon But will stay until noon
